Man stabbed, killed at Chapel Hill Mall; suspect on the loose

Akron police say they know who’s responsible for Wednesday night’s deadly stabbing, now they are searching for him.

An Akron police spokesman said in a statement Thursday that an arrest warrant has been issued for 29-year-old Deandre Baskerville, of Akron.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Akron police responded to civilian reports of an altercation in the parking lot at Chapel Hill Mall, 2000 Brittain Road.

Police say a man has been fatally stabbed outside a mall in northeast Ohio, and a suspect is being sought. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The Summit County Medical Examiner said the cause of death was a stab wound to the neck.
