Tottenham smashed the record for the highest attendance for an English club on Wednesday as 85,011 fans packed into Wembley for their Champions League clash against Monaco.

One Arsenal supporter took no prisoners in the wake of Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Monaco in the Champions League and made a decision to troll a rival fan at the airport.

‘We wanted to stop the transitions of our opponents, who are very strong in this area, ‘ said Jardim.

The decision to play at Wembley was forced on the club as their historic White Hart Lane stadium, soon to make way for a new ground next door, has a reduced capacity of around 31,000.

Toby Alderweireld halved the deficit with a header shortly before halftime and Tottenham were much better after the break.

Despite Spurs’ lack of practice at Wembley, Pochettino revealed they have adapted a training pitch at Hotspur Way, their Enfield base, to mirror the national stadium’s pitch. “Here I am at Monaco and the focus is on putting in a performance to help us through to the next stage of the Champions League”.

A disappointed Alli, speaking to BT Sport after the match, acknowledged that his side require a quick response when they turn attention back to Premier League action this coming weekend.

Harry Kane is confident Tottenham’s England stars will ensure Wembley becomes a successful second home in their Champions League opener against Monaco on Wednesday.

“Spurs have already been doing this for a number of seasons with Pochettino so they can now go on and continue to play that way”. “We improved in the second half and had chances to win. We are a team, we have a lot of competition and it’s good the players are all available to give me more options”. We need to work, to show more hunger.

Pochettino has previously used Alli centrally and on the left of the attacking three, as well as in a deeper role, but the England global stressed he is comfortable in any position.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to show how big is our club”, Pochettino said before kick-off. I talk about passion, it’s to feel more.

“For me also, it’s two years since I played in the Champions League”.
