Broncos NFL player kneels during U.S. anthem

Marshall hoped other players would join in the protest which was started by his former college teammate, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Denver Broncos inside linebacker Brandon Marshall (54) kneels during the national anthem before the game Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Text on a photo of him kneeling reads “I’m not against the military, I’m not against the police or America. He told me to believe in my values and those types of things in life, and obviously I believe in our country and the national anthem very strongly”, Kubiak said after Kaepernick’s protest.

Marshall was dropped as an endorsed sponsor by Air Academy Federal Credit Union on Friday. “While we respect Brandon’s right pf expression, his actions are not a representation of our organization and membership. For this reason, while we wish Brandon the best this season, we are politely terminating our agreement with him”.

Pregame protestation of the national anthem, “is the right platform”, Marshall asserted in a postgame interview at Mile High Stadium, where the Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers 21-20. This was the right platform.

“Marshall added”, Let’s come up with a strategy for all these games”.

When Marshall lost his first endorsement deal last week, he said he knew the risks associated with taking up Kaepernick’s cause. “So when we have an opinion and we speak it, I feel a lot of people bash us for what we have to say”.

It’s unclear whether we’ll see any Colts player (s) join Kaepernick and others in kneeling for the national anthem anytime soon, but it sounds like Chuck Pagano would at least understand if a player chose to do so.

Miami Dolphins running back Arian Foster also said Monday he would continue to kneel during the national anthem after he and three teammates did so Sunday. “I believe in his actions, so I definitely want to stand by him”.

Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, who has called for more outspoken behavior from such National Football League stars as Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers, said Lane and Kaepernick symbolize a growing message nationwide. “I had so many comments on Twitter and Instagram, I couldn’t go through all of them”.
