India weighs response to deadly raid on Kashmir base
However, Pakistan has flatly refused New Delhi’s claims of Islamabad’s involvement in Uri terror attack, stating that said that pointing fingers on them has become a traditional tendency of India after each terrorist attack. “Other Countries like the United States and United Kingdom must also comment in similar manner when they refer to the Kashmir issue”, she said.

India had reacted strongly to the deadliest attack on the Army in Jammu and Kashmir that sparked an outrage with the Prime Minister strongly condemning it.
Seventeen jawans were killed in the terror attack, the Northern Command of the Army said while 19 other personnel were injured in the strike.
He took a swipe at the government’s policy vis-à-vis Pakistan and said it should approach the worldwide community for imposing comprehensive sanctions on Pakistan which harbours global terror network and uses terrorism as an instrument of state policy. More than 80 people, almost all of them protesters, have been killed in the violence. There have been over 900 ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir. Hours after the attack, India’s Home Minister Rajnath Singh called “Pakistan is terrorist state” and accused it of involvement in the incident.
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned the attack in a statement and said he hoped all sides would “prioritize the re-establishment of stability and prevent any further loss of life”. The war of words and blame game are clearly insignificant actions that will do nothing to dissuade Pakistan’s terror network from targeting us.
Four militants, reportedly belonging to the Pakistani-based Islamist group Jaish-e-Mohammed, sneaked into the Indian military unit in Kashmir’s Uri region on Sunday (18 September) sparking a major attack, said to be the worst in the valley in the past 17 years.
“Despite grave provocation and loss of almost a dozen soldiers in the terrorist attack on Pathankot Airbase, Modi government invited a Pakistani investigating team to Pathankot headed by the dreaded ISI. I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished”, Modi had said. Both claim the Himalayan territory in full.
A similar attack on an Indian military installation occurred in January, when six gunmen entered an air force base in the town of Pathankot close to the Pakistan border.
India responded by suspending talks with Pakistan, a reaction that also angered many in Modi’s party.
The U.N.is preparing to hold its annual general assembly in NY, where Kashmir is likely to be on the agenda. It said it has uncovered Global Positioning System trackers that show their starting points in the neighbouring country, and arms marked with the insignia of the Pakistan Army. “We are concerned about this escalation and rising temperatures surrounding Kashmir situation”, he said.
