Dwyane Wade bikes with police to promote unity in Miami

According to National Basketball Association trade rumors, Miami Heat’s Udonis Haslem will do his best to have former teammate Dwayne Wade return to Heat after signing with Chicago Bulls this offseason.

The night was a bittersweet moment for the players and likely for Heat fans as well who are still upset about Wade leaving.

Riding alongside Wade was his wife, Gabrielle Union, and longtime teammate Udonis Haslem.

“What are the most simple words, but what means the most is just ‘Thank you.’ Just simply those words mean a lot”. “So it was something I was thinking about, coming back to Miami for the last time, before the season started.”.

As noted by the Palm Beach Post, Wade is in Miami this weekend to lead a community bike ride.

Before walking off, Wade called Udonis Haslem to the stage.

“This community’s been a part of me for 13 years and if it’s a part of you for that long, it’s a part of you forever”, Wade said. Haslem will continue his stint in Miami after re-signing with the organization, while Wade left and inked a deal with the Bulls. The group then moved on to Rockwell on Washington Avenue.

Such was the case when the future Hall-of-Famer, now with the Bulls after 13 years in Miami, was asked about his relationship with former coach and Heat president Pat Riley. Everyone, including LeBron James thought that Wade will retire with Heat.

“Being a kid growing up, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls [were] the team for us”.

“It’s me saying, as humbly as I can, just thank you”, Wade said.

“I pray he gets a chance to get back on a basketball court and just do what he loves to do”, he said. The pair remains close and Haslem is still hoping that someday, he will be able to play with Wade again. “That’s one thing neither one of us has ever done, run away from competition”.

A source says teammates and pals gave toasts with “laughter and a few tears”, and played a slide show of his 13 years in Miami.
