The latest developments came just hours after a backpack containing multiple bombs was found Sunday night near an Elizabeth, New Jersey, train station, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the city’s mayor.

“Everything that needs to be done is being done and more”, Cuomo said.

Sources tell ABC News that authorities believe all of this past weekend’s incidents – explosions in Seaside Park and Chelsea explosion, the un-exploded pressure cooker on West 27th Street, and the devices found/detonated at the Elizabeth train station – are connected.

Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent William Sweeney said there was “no indication” the suspect was acting as part of a terror cell. Most of the injuries were minor.

The Democratic governor also said that 1,000 additional law enforcement officers were being deployed as a precaution.

As many as five potential explosive devices tumbled out of the backpack when it was emptied, Bollwage said. Mayor Bill de Blasio ruled out any terror connections, but called the blast an “intentional act”.
