“So pleased we won”, Abbington said on social media.

The story Emmys 2016: Sherlock star Amanda Abbington says her purse was stolen during the awards first appeared on The Sydney Morning Herald.
HBO’s critically-lauded All The Way had been the pre-game favorite to win the Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie, but certainly did not go “all the way”, as forecasted, succumbing to tough competition in the category. After collecting her Emmy for the BBC adaption, Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, she took to Twitter to reveal that her purse was apparently “nicked” from right “under her seat”.
Someone swiped her belongings – including a mobile phone and driving licence – while she was on stage receiving her award at the ceremony.
“So whoever took my purse, I hope some awful karmic shit happens to you”, she added. “How crappy is that”. Amanda also replied to a fan who suggested that her purse got “kicked away from under her chair” and that “someone handed it in to staff” at the awards show.

The star, who plays Mary Watson on the BBC show, took to Twitter following the ceremony to thank fans for their congratulatory messages and to call out the “bastard” who made a decision to swipe her purse.
