South Park addressed Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest

Victor Oladipo of the Oklahoma City Thunder says you should count on seeing any number of NBA players following in Colin Kaepernick’s footsteps this basketball season. This was in addition to earlier protests by soccer star Megan Rapinoe and members of the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.

In 2014, Cleveland Cavaliers players, including LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, wore shirts that said “I can’t breathe” during warmups in reference to Eric Garner’s death at the hands of law enforcement in NY.

Actor James Woods is fed up with the way the NFL has handled Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest – so much so that he has vowed never to watch a league game ever again.

In a statement, she said: ‘I chose to not stand for the pledge of allegiance today to stand in solidarity with the cause of injustice that Colin Kaepernick has shined a bright light upon. But I think we can all agree we love our vets, we love the vast majority of our officers of law enforcement, but they’re human beings too, and there are isolated incidents that need to be better. “I can not salute the flag; I know that I am a black man in a white world”. “But my understanding, at least, is, is that he’s exercising his constitutional right to make a statement”, the President said during a press conference after the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, China on Monday. The 49ers quarterback says he doesn’t want to kneel forever, and wants to see significant progress toward improving racial equality and social justice in the United States. “You can only control what you can control, and the most things you can control is yourself”, Oladipo said. Wayne Newton said on Fox that if Kaepernick doesn’t like it here, “Get the hell out”. This movement is sweeping the nation as a peaceful form of protest. He said the protest was disrespectful toward the armed forces. “I think that may be true, but why can’t we improve?” Kaepernick was benched midseason previous year after completing just 59 percent of his passes for 1,615 yards with six touchdowns to five interceptions, but many believed he could excel in Kelly’s up-tempo offense.

And it is the reason people affronted by the form – and fact – of Kaepernick’s protest have framed the issue exactly wrong.
