Adrian Peterson has torn meniscus, but could play this week
The Vikings unveiled the new U.S. Bank Stadium Sunday night, which was made to make the experience better for fans.

Zimmer did not rule out that Peterson might be able to play Sunday at Carolina.
Going forward, the Vikings do have two capable running backs already on their roster in Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon.
Peterson tore the meniscus in his right knee against the Packers Sunday, but coach Mike ZImmer is not ruling him out for this week.
Zimmer’s decision to keep Peterson’s return date from this knee injury close to the chest doesn’t come as a surprise.
“We’re going through the evaluation process”, he said.
Peterson led the NFL in rushing yards in 2015 for the third time in his career (1,485) while tying for the league lead with 11 touchdowns on the ground. The seven-time 1,000-yard plus rusher was off to a poor start this season averaging just 1.6 yards per carry, but Tennessee’s defense Week 1 loaded the box consistently against Minnesota’s star back.
But it appears likely Peterson will miss that game, and his status for the Vikings’ Week 4 home game against the Giants on Monday Night Football is very much in doubt as well.
The Vikings revamped their offensive line in the offseason, signing Boone from the San Francisco 49ers and right tackle Andre Smith from the Cincinnati Bengals, and moving Brandon Fusco from left guard to right guard.

Peterson was meeting with team doctors and athletic trainers to discuss his options, which include surgery to address the injury.
