Peterson, Bradford banged up behind leaky offensive line
Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Monday that running back Adrian Peterson has a torn meniscus and his timetable for a return is uncertain.

The Packers also failed to convert a fourth-and-2 run play inside the Vikings 20-yard line earlier in the second half. After being examined on the sideline, Peterson hopped through a field-level club at the team’s new stadium toward the Vikings’ locker room. He missed all but one game after he reached a plea deal on a child-abuse charge and was suspended by the NFL.
“Whatever it was, it calmed down now”, Zimmer said on Sunday night.
Adrian Peterson suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee Sunday night, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.
Peterson has rushed for just 50 yards on 31 carries in the first two weeks.
The Vikings already have lost quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for the season with a knee injury, although he has been replaced by a veteran starter in Sam Bradford, acquired September 3 from Philadelphia. His longest rush of the season has been nine yards, while his 1.6 yard average is well below his 4.9 yard career average per rush.
Jerick McKinnon, primarily a third-down back, and fullback Matt Asiata would likely share the carries if Peterson is unable to play against the Panthers.
“We will try to find a way to win”, Zimmer said of his Week 3 game plan. “You never want to see a guy go down, but it’s going to happen at some point or another”. Following time off, the Packers will play three more home games, against the Giants, Cowboys and Bears.
Losing either Peterson or Teddy Bridgewater would be enough for a team with a Super Bowl on its mind to handle. “It’s just one of those things where we’re so close, but I’m so sick of hearing that and so sick and exhausted of everybody talking about it, that we need to get it fixed, because we’re going to play a really tough team this week”.

Not that we think they will be choosing the latter the option.
