Sony Officially Announces The PS4 Pro
The PlayStation 4 Pro is available on 10 November and costs £349 in the United Kingdom and $399 in the US. “And I’m more confident today that we’re going to have the most powerful console ever made”. The powerful console was announced alongside the PS4 slim, a slimmer version of the original console, to be available on September 15.

“The Last of Us” originally came out on the PlayStation 3, and it continues to have staying power, with a 4K version available for those who decide to purchase a PlayStation 4 Pro.
The PS4 Pro will be powered by AMD’s eight-core Jaguar processor in combination with an GPU based on AMD’s Radeon chipset running at 4.20 teraflops. In fact, during the press conference, Sony never even touched on the topic of the Blu-ray player within the new console, which is set to launch in November. Sony priced the Sony PS4 Pro at $399.99, which is $100 more than the new slim Sony PS4.
To date, Sony has noted that over 40 million PlayStation consoles have been sold all across the world, outselling Microsoft’s Xbox One and Nintendo’s Wii U. In addition, it’ll be upscaled to 4K from there, with text, menus and other miscellaneous UI bits and bobs rendered at native 4K resolution.
Sony also revealed a revamped version of its standard PlayStation 4.
Why the new upgraded PS4 Pro system wouldn’t include 4K Blu-ray playback is truly confusing. The Xbox One S features a 2-terabyte hard-disk drive and starts at $299. As you might have read, PS4 Pro is devoid of support for 4K UltraHD Blu-ray video, which makes it the only console in the market that is capable of producing 4K and HDR video.
In addition to that, Sony also revealed that Netflix and YouTube would be getting fully functional 4K apps (something the Netflix CEO hinted at previous year, but his timing was totally off).
What can’t the PS4 Pro do?
