Klopp’s side ran out 4-1 winners, with a brace from Roberto Firmino adding to strikes from Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane.

In fairness to Klopp’s men, they were indeed “good” after the break as Lallana capped off a fine week for him with a brilliantly rifled goal into the top corner at the Kop end before Firmino added some late gloss with a tap-in as a exhausted and stretched Leicester team threw in the towel.

“We’ve had two weeks now and I hear a little bit of doubt in your questions”, said Klopp.

“I’m happy for that”, continued Mane, who also hailed the atmosphere inside Anfield as the club’s new Main Stand was officially unveiled to take the attendance to over 54,000. We were really so strong and quick and clear.

However, if Liverpool can produce attacking displays like they demonstrated against Leicester, don’t be surprised to hear the supporters continue to sing the praises of their manager, whether he likes it or not.

“I have to say, because I don’t know how else I can say this, please don’t sing my name before the game is decided!”

“We were OK for the first ten minutes until they scored a goal but after that we lost everything”.

For about 30 minutes of the first half, Liverpool absolutely swarmed Leicester. “That is what I expect from us, what we did today”.

“He’s the type of player, yes, we’ve paid a lot of money for him, but two good seasons with us, and he could be smashing world records”.

“(Against) Arsenal (in the 0-0 draw) we should have had a penalty, they should have had a man sent off.

Liverpool net play Chelsea this Friday in a short week and the club’s first go on Friday Night Football this term.

We have to clean our mind.

“We made a very good training session and we are ready to play these seven matches in 22 days”.
