While enthusiasm for Obama drove many black voters to the polls in the past two general elections, fear and fierce opposition to Trump could lead them back in similar numbers this year.

President Barack Obama gave a passionate message about the presidential race: All votes truly matter in November, especially in this election. So when the average American feels that Clinton is less trustworthy than Trump, something else is going on, and President Obama did a great job of calling it out. Obama called on the audience to help stop Trump, saying he would consider it a “personal insult” and an insult to his legacy if black voters didn’t turn out for Hillary Clinton. “My name Obama, may not be on the ballot, but our progress, tolerance, Democracy and justice is on the ballot”, he also added that if the people wish to give him a “good send-off”, then vote for someone who will protect his legacy. I don’t know about you guys, but I am so relieved that the whole birther thing is over”, Obama said. “I mean, ISIL, North Korea, poverty, climate change ― none of those things weighed on my mind like the validity of my birth certificate. “We can’t let Barack Obama’s legacy fall into the hands of someone who doesn’t understand that, whose risky and divisive vision for our country will drag us backwards”, she said.

Her campaign issued press releases with high-profile supporters from key swing states, including Virginia and Florida, chastising Trump for his past views.

Obama responded to Trump’s confirmation of his birthplace by saying, “In other breaking news, the world is round, not flat”.

Clinton framed the stakes of the election in terms of protecting the Obama legacy.

Obama used his short speech at the event to praise Clinton while simultaneously ripping into Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The 2016 presidential race is tight.

Because political transformation under Obama hasn’t visibly materialized, a subset of black voters “don’t trust politicians and think they’re part of the problem and not part of the solution”, says Andra Gillespie, an Emory University political scientist.

US society is uncomfortable with powerful women and that is why the United States has not yet elected a woman president, President Barack Obama said on Sunday.
