Danny Woodhead injured his knee in the first quarter and was taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

Woodhead now becomes the team’s second skill-position player on offense to tear an ACL.

Despite losing more key personnel, McCoy said he was pleased with all three phases of the team’s win against the Jaguars, calling it an “efficient win”.

A day after the Jacksonville Jaguars were embarrassed by the San Diego Chargers 38-14, Jacksonville coach Gus Bradley said, “You can’t judge this team on one bad game”.

Benjamin, signed as a free agent from Cleveland, caught a 45-yarder late in the third quarter. For the second time in as many weeks, the Chargers raced out to a huge first half lead, but this time, they finished the job. In Week 3 of the 2014 season, Woodhead broke his fibula and also missed the rest of that season. He was unable to put any weight on the knee and had to be carted off the field by the Chargers’ medical personnel. The Chargers lost backup running back Brandon Oliver to injury in the preseason.

Despite the record, Rivers set a career record for passing yards (4,789), while leading the league in completions and attempts.

What could be the Chargers final home opener in San Diego drew only 52,165 fans at 72,000-seat Qualcomm Stadium. “We get an opportunity to find out what kind of team we are and we’re looking to go about it”. They played the Green Bay Packers very well in Week 1, as Bortles almost led his team to a last-minute game-winning drive.
