A daughter of Robert Kennedy, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, said in a Facebook post that former Republican President George H.W. Bush told her he’s voting for – wait for it – Hillary Clinton. Barbara Bush has been much more outspoken than her husband about Trump, telling CNN in February that she’s “sick of him”, is “not insane about what he says about women” and doesn’t “understand why people are for him”.

Jeb Bush, for his part, has indicated that, though he won’t back Trump in November, he will not be voting for Clinton, either.

A spokesman for the elder Bush tells Politico that the former president’s vote will be private.

Relations between the Bush family and Trump have been strained since the primary, when Jeb was frequently the subject of Trump’s attacks on the campaign trail and in the debates. He along with former President George W. Bush decided not to attend the Republican National Convention in Cleveland where Donald Trump accepted the GOP nomination.

A spokesperson for the former president, Jim McGrath, said that Bush had no comment on Townsend’s allegation.
