A New Jersey woman may be too chicken to eat at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen again after finding what she claims is a rat head in her meal.

Rosemary Thomas posted multiple pictures of the rat she says she found inside her chicken from the Popeyes restaurant in Harlem, New York, onto her Facebook page.

The jury is still out as to whether Harlem Popeyes served Clifton Park, NY, woman, Rosemary Thomas a fried rat’s head instead of chicken during a visit to the outlet, Sunday morning.

‘My daughter is traumatized. The Popeyes in question is located on the corner of Frederick Douglass and West 145th Street and now has an “A” grade from the Department of Health.

According to the city Department of Health’s website, the Harlem fried chicken chain was last inspected on April 21, 2016 and received an “A” grade.

“Yesterday, she ate nothing all day”, Thomas wrote.

In 2014, inspectors noted a critical violation that said there was “evidence of mice or live mice present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas”.

According to DNA Info, a spokesperson for Popeyes says the company is now moving forward by reaching out to the franchise owner for more information.

Popeye’s supplier told the company that the mystery morsel is likely a chicken organ rather than a rat, Krapowski said, though she added that it would be sent to a third-party for DNA testing.

She told DNAinfo that the franchise owner is upset regarding the incident.

Thomas also said she still had the rat head.

She also said that the owner had contacted Thomas’ family and was going to meet them Monday night.
