New Polls Show Election Tightening, Trump Gaining in Battleground States

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. US presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on Wednesday moved to show their medical fitness for the White House as Clinton released a letter from her doctor declaring her fit for the presidency and Trump taped a TV-segment about his well-being. Clinton’s doctor released a statement Wednesday saying the former secretary of state is healthy and fit to be president.

The more detailed account of Clinton’s health status came after she became woozy and had to be physically supported after leaving a 9/11 memorial event Sunday.

Mrs. Clinton said she plans to release more medical information “very shortly”.

A day after her campaign announced that she’d be giving a speech linking Trump to the so-called “alt-right movement” – a modern evolution of white supremacy – Trump escalated his attacks, labelling Clinton as “a bigot who sees people of color only as votes, not as human beings worthy of a better future”.

Mr Trump had another physical in recent days, and he went on the television set of celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz today to disclose his new health records. “I’ve already spent a lot of time talking about mine, as you know”.

The doctor also said that Clinton was “up to date” on her vaccinations and has normal mammogram and breast ultrasound.

And a gender gap is still apparent between the two candidates, with Trump securing a double-digit lead ahead of Clinton among men, while she has a similar margin over him among women.

Her health took centre stage after footage emerged of her appearing to almost collapse at a 9/11 anniversary ceremony on Sunday.

In addition to her positive assessment of Clinton, Bardack also listed all medications the Democratic hopeful is taking and listed other treatments she received this year – none of which were serious in nature. Polls in battleground states where the race is likely to be decided showed Trump now leading in Iowa, Ohio, Florida and Nevada, and tied in North Carolina.

According to Politico, the latest poll from Quinnipiac University puts Clinton head to head with Donald Trump since her pneumonia controversy. She was diagnosed with pneumonia. They say one upside to her downtime is that she’s been able to sharpen her closing message to voters.

“I’ve always said that this is going to be a tight race”. “Those were all the tests that were just done last week”, Trump said in an excerpt released by the show.

Donald Trump will appear on a tabloid medical show Thursday evening where he is expected to provide unprecedented insight into his medical history – though perhaps not as much as his critics would have liked.

Her illness coincided with a mini-surge by Trump, who has drawn even or taken a slight lead in national polls.
