See Matt Damon Crash Emmys Stage as Jimmy Kimmel Loses

Moving on from the topic of Trump, Oliver shared his disappointment with Emmys night, despite his big win.

If they didn’t respond so well, Kimmel promised he was prepared, saying, “I mean, these are people that have all been on my show and they also know the camera is on them, so they have to be pretending to enjoy what I’m doing – because they know I will find those clips and punish them somehow in the future”.

Bush’s brief appearance came at the end of a skit parodying several Emmy-nominated shows including “Modern Family”, “Veep” and “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”.

Jeb Bush, who Trump vanquished earlier this year in the Republican primaries, showed up as a chauffeur, driving “Veep” star (and perennial Emmy winner) Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ President Selina Meyer.

“Modern Family” star Julie Bowen and Matt LeBlanc announced Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang as the victor for Best Comedy Series Writing for the Netflix series “Master of None” – another surprise win. He also addressed the diversity issue that has plagued award shows by pointing out just how diverse this year’s nominees are.

Were it not for Trump having been hired to host “Celebrity Apprentice”, he wouldn’t now be running for president, Kimmel declared.

“I have not always been a very good man, but I play one hell of a woman”, Anderson said from the stage. “This year, she had a Sunday ceramics class”.

Finally, Kimmel made it to the Microsoft Theater with the help of Game of Thrones’ Khaleesi (Emilia Clarke) and her dragon, Drogon, who interrupted Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet with some fire breath on his way to drop the host off.

“I’m trying to figure out if “topple the patriarchy” is a good thing for me or not”, Kimmel offered after Soloway left the stage. First, he was driven in a white Bronco by Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who played A.C. Cowlings in The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Sterling K. Brown brought in the retelling of the O.J. Simpson trial’s second award of the night, for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. He was more concerned with his hosting, saying, “Mostly I just want to do well as host”. Kimmel told the British-born producer, “Thank you for coming all the way from England to tear us all apart with your intricate plot: it worked, you sneaky little crumpet-muncher, you!”

Under Kimmel’s leadership, the glitterati in the audience got a snack break as the kids from Netflix’s “Stranger Things” delivered peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches Kimmel said were prepared by his mother, who was seen in a remote kitchen hard at work.

Presenter Taraji P. Henson and victor Kate McKinnon were among those who grabbed a bag. Tatiana Maslany accepts the award for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for “Orphan Black” at the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

“When Maggie Smith hears she’s nominated for an Emmy, she has the same reaction the rest of us have when we get those 20 percent off Bed Bath & Beyond coupons in the mail”.
