Eagles rookie quarterback Carson Wentz looked the part of a No. 2 overall pick in his debut, throwing for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns in a Week 1 blowout win over the Browns.
That wasn’t the only hiccup the Eagles experienced against the Chicago Bears in Wentz’s second career game, either.
With the line in place for a second straight week – and not getting as many reps together in the preseason as they would have liked, believing that Johnson would get suspended prior to the start of the regular season – there could be more opportunities in the run game.
On their second drive of the game, the Bears’ offense got a boost from several great passes from Cutler.
This game is just another chance for Wentz to learn and develop.
The Bears never got into a groove offensively because the Eagles’ front four dominated in the trenches.

Eagles QB Carson Wentz suited up for his National Football League debut vs. the Browns in Week 1.
Ryan Mathews, Philadelphia Eagles – The running back started slow, however he punched in two rushing touchdowns in the game. I’m just mad I didn’t score. It also served as a breakthrough of sort for the Birds.
The Philadelphia Eagles went off against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, delivering a solid 29-10 win against the NFL’s perennial bottom-feeders.
The Eagles are going to enter the game on the road a slight underdog, but the Birds are going to try to keep momentum going after a strong win in week 1.
They come up against an Eagles side that certainly has enough to cause Chicago problems, but Chicago will know that if they play to their potential they have what it takes to get the result today. At that point, they had a firm grasp.
Wentz completed 21-of-34 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown.
“It was a cool stage, Monday Night Football”, Wentz said. Wentz played well, too. But the Eagles’ schedule is about to get tougher as they’ll face the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. To this point, though, Philly hasn’t flunked one yet.

Wentz made sure the Eagles had a bigger lead by the time Hoyer entered the game. Here are our staff predictions, for what seems to be a close and interesting game. And a fierce Houston defense had five sacks and another 13 hits on Cutler. Safety Adrian Amos and cornerback Bryce Callahan both suffered concussions.
