What we know about bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami
Rahami is in custody after a shootout Monday morning with police in Linden, New Jersey, sources said.

An FBI poster had earlier warned Rahami could be “armed and dangerous”.
Rahami, 28, was detained following a shootout that resulted in two officers being injured in Linden, N.J., the local mayor confirmed shortly after 11 a.m.
The 28-year-old, who was born in Afghanistan but is a naturalised U.S. citizen, was named by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as wanted in connection with an explosion in the Chelsea neighbourhood of Manhattan, as well as a pipe bomb which exploded in New Jersey.
Ahmad Khan Rahami provided investigators with a wealth of clues that lead to his arrest some 50 hours after the first explosion, according to three law enforcement officials familiar with the investigation.
In addition, Rahami will face charges of “second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon” and “second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful objective”, the prosecutor’s statement indicated, according to CNN. But authorities said they would use the alert system again, in cases where it’s warranted.
As the investigation progressed, the FBI and State Police released photos of Rahami, warning he was considered “armed and unsafe”.
“They looked like they were two gentlemen just strolling up and down Seventh Avenue, at the time”, Boyce said.
The weekend saw a number of incidents, including bomb explosions in NY and New Jersey, as well as a mass stabbing in Minnesota. No one was harmed by the pipebombs that went off in N.J.
The FBI and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said Rahami should be considered armed and risky.
The president also spoke to the off-duty police officer who shot and killed Dahir Adan, a 22-year-old Somali-American who on Saturday stabbed nine people at a Minnesota shopping mall. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility. But authorities have not drawn any connection between the bloodshed there and the bombings.
The man suspected of planting bombs in a NY neighborhood and a New Jersey seaside town may have aimed to inflict carnage incognito, but he didn’t succeed for long in concealing his identity. Authorities sent emergency cellphone notifications with the suspect’s name and identifying information, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation released a photo of Rahami, which was broadcast widely on the news.
“Even as we have to be vigilant and aggressive both in preventing senseless acts of violence but also making sure that we find those who carry out such acts and bring them to justice, we all have a role to play as citizens in making sure that we don’t succumb to that fear”.
Five people have also been questioned in relation to the NY blast.
“Folks around here, you know, they don’t get scared”.
Rahami lived with his family on a busy street a few miles from the Newark airport.
Five people were questioned at length overnight and early Monday, but FBI Assistant Director William Sweeney said none of them had been charged. The men told authorities they saw wires and a pipe coming out of the package.
The lawsuit was terminated in 2012 because one of Rahami’s brothers had pleaded guilty to blocking police from enforcing closing hours at the restaurant. “He’s always in there.he’s a very friendly guy, That is what is so scary”. “It’s hard when it’s home”, McCann said.

The Chelsea explosion left 29 people injured on Saturday night. Law enforcement officials are “moving smartly”, he said, and “it does not help if false reports or incomplete information is out there”. He was discovered sleeping in a bar doorway, authorities said.
