Destiny: Rise of Iron launch hit by connection problems
Right on schedule, Bungie released new updates for Destiny‘s PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions today that fix minor bugs that were introduced with patch 2.4.0. As outlined on the official website, the hotfixes address a series of known issues that the developer has been actively tracking.

The problems likely stem from an unexpectedly high level of demand for what is Destiny’s first expansion in a year, and its only expansion of 2016.
Destiny: Rise of Iron is set to launch this Tuesday, September 20-but you’re probably wondering at what time you’ll be able to log in and experience the game.
Destiny users are reporting a variety of error codes, though “tapir” and “weasel” seem to be the most common, and no one seems to be able to get online.
Many players have reported seeing a message which simply states, “Destiny servers are not available”. These players are also being told their place in the queue, with some as far back as 135,440th.
Fans can also purchase the “Destiny: Rise of Iron” soundtrack from the Bungie Store for $7.

Since its launch, September 2014’s Destiny has received two additional slices of content in The Dark Below (December) and House of Wolves (May 2015). The hourly schedule appears to double as a countdown timer for Rise of Iron. These can be obtained by grabbing the orbs from teammates who are already infected, in public or private PvP matches in “Destiny: Rise of Iron”. The expansion includes new weapons, items and armour of course, as well as a new enemy type and a new social hub area called Felwinter Peak.
