Zack Nelson, who goes by the YouTube moniker JerryRigEverything and who recently put the ZTE Axon 7 through the scanner, subjected the iPhone 7 through a torture test.

JerryRigEverything tested the iPhone 7 for scratches on the Moh scale of hardness. The video shows off the matte black variant of the iPhone 7 being put through the rigors as Nelson tests the smartphone for bendability and scratches.
Sapphire crystal resists up to nine-level scratches in the Mohs Scale, but the iPhone 7 scratched below that level and managed to survive only up to scratches level six or seven.
Regarding the bend test, the iPhone 7 does not do too well in the area. So it should hold up well in your pocket thanks to the anodizing process. In this test, however, it scratched deeply at level 6, suggesting that it is actually just glass.
The camera lens was scratch-resistant when grazed using a razor blade. The rear camera sensor also took a battering, with the level 6 hardness pick causing a deep sound.
JerryRigEverything also found that the screen does not bend to your body if you accidentally sit on it, which could tamper with the phone’s water resistant shield.
The good news is the iPhone 7 doesn’t seem to bend as easily as it did on the iPhone 6 – which suffered the bendgate controversy – but if you want to bend your phone, you’ll be able to.
According to Apple, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus were built taking into account the environmental awareness of the brand, with several features to reduce environmental impacts, such as a mercury-free LED-backlit display, arsenic-free display glass, brominated flame retardant-free, PVC-free and recyclable aluminum enclosure.

The iPhone 7 starts at $649, and $749 for the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus. The glossy Jet Black version is said to be much more scratch-prone.
