Tambor, who plays a transgender character on “Transparent”, called on Hollywood to make him the last non-transgender actor to get such a role. According to the LA Times, Louis-Dreyfus’ sixth Emmy win means she surpassed veteran actress Mary Tyler Moore for most Emmys as a lead actress in a comedy. Louis-Dreyfus apologized for what she called “the current political climate”, seven weeks before the presidential election. “I think that “Veep” has torn down the wall between comedy and politics. I’m so honored to be in this category with these artistic killers”, he said in recognition of his co-nominees. Give them their stories. The Saturday Night Live comedian, who had her website hacked and Twitter account flooded with racist slurs this summer, made light of the situation onstage with the Ernst & Young reps who hold the winners’ names.
