7 things a ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel could actually be about

With the end of Game of Thrones almost in sight, would HBO consider developing a spin-off series to keep our dreams-and the cable network’s ratings-alive? “So that’s really a question for George”.

Game of Thrones has a record number of Emmys wins, huge ratings, and a fanbase that’s begging the show to go on past the planned final two seasons on HBO.

However, we probably shouldn’t expect series creators and showrunners David Benioff and D.B.

After the awards show, author of the book series that inspired the show, George R.R. Martin said he has a helluva lot more content left that could be turned into TV gold.

Fortunately for fans of the novels, Martin added that he “still has two books to finish” and is focusing on that gargantuan task at the moment.

If HBO does move ahead with that sort of series, it would likely focus on Robert’s Rebellion, especially since Game of Thrones already found a pretty flawless young Ned Stark in Robert Aramayo.

You might want to ask George about that.

“One of the great things about what [Martin] did is he didn’t just build a story; he built a world with so many characters and such a rich, detailed history behind it”, the pair explained.

That series is set in the United States, not Westeros, however, and Martin said he has no plans to be involved in its production.

For book nerds like myself, it’s also exciting to hear Martin is continuing to write more Westerosi history.

Hey, here’s an idea: Let’s talk about another series after Martin completes A Song of Ice of Fire.

We do certainly think that the network is going to play around in the “Game of Thrones” universe in some way moving forward, but they may start to look at this topic more in 2017. The main focus is on capping the current stories in “Game of Thrones”.

Game of Thrones premiered in 2011 and has won a total of 38 Emmy Awards till date
