Jon Stewart as debate moderator?

The petition, which asks the Commission on Presidential Debates to consider Jon Stewart as a moderator for one of the three major 2016 presidential debates, has garnered more than 81,400 signatures. Although Stewart has been secretive about where he’ll take his career next – and he undoubtedly has plenty of options – moderating a debate would actually be a good way to maintain his relevance on the national stage without committing to his next move.

Representatives for Stewart and the Commission on Presidential Debates have not yet responded to The Independent’s request for comment.

It’s been two weeks since Jon Stewart ended his 16-year tenure as host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, but some rather passionate fans are not ready to see him retire from American political discourse just yet. He claims that many in the country believe that Stewart’s opinions in politics are that of many denizens’ “worldview and values”. He’s interviewed numerous heads of state and politicians and held them accountable, more so than other traditional news media have. During the 1966-67 year, she taught one Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, known to the world as Jon Stewart.

The internet wants a presidential debate moderated by Jon Stewart to happen.

“Choosing Jon Stewart would be a popular choice among voters”, the petition concludes. The petition’s goal is 150,000 signatures.
