Chelsea captain John Terry has said he’s hoping to return to action soon as he’s nearly recovered from his ankle injury, sustained in the 2-2 draw at Swansea City on September 11.

The 35-year-old defender, has returned to training after straining ligaments in his left ankle during their 2-2 draw at Swansea .

But the pressure already appears to be Conte to improve performances and address the concerns Chelsea have in defence.

That led to the deadline day signing of Luiz, just two years after he left the club to join Paris Saint-Germain, and Conte has already confirmed that the Brazil global was not on his wish list as he was not aware Luiz was available in the transfer market.

The Sun say Abramovich is ready to back Conte by giving him more money to spend during the January transfer window.

Antonio Conte felt his side missed Terry’s organisational qualities during that defeat and, although his is set to remain on the sidelines for Tuesday’s EFL Cup tie against Leicester City, his recovery remains on track. It’s been a good response. “We know we have to work to improve because I know we can improve a lot, this is important”. “We are disappointed about the defeat against Liverpool because we gave away two goals and it was our first defeat of the season, but during training I’ve seen the right intensity, the right commitment from the players and, now, we have a very tough game against Leicester”. After this game we’ll see his physical condition. It’s important to restart and find a good spirit.
