Julia Louis-Dreyfus dedicates ‘Veep’ Emmy to late father

Julia Louis-Dreyfus managed to make people at the Emmy Awards laugh despite personal heartbreak.

Louis-Dreyfus, a TV academy favorite, also holds the record for most nominations in the lead actress category, alongside Moore.

Television’s biggest stars braved the red carpet heat ahead of the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, where the dramatization of O.J. Simpson’s sensational 1995 double murder trial looked set to sweep to victory after an extraordinarily colorful year for us television. Julia’s won 8 Emmys over the course of her career.

The cast and crew of The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story accept the award for Outstanding Limited Series. Shortly after her emotional speech, Twitter users took to social media to mourn the loss of Julia’s dad – but they paid tribute to the wrong guy. “I think it’s changing the landscape, period”, he said. “I’d like to thank [producer] Frank Rich, who helped me trick Dave”, she said on stage at L.A.’s Microsoft Theater, appearing to shake even during the amusing moments. “I would not be unhappy were I the last cisgender male to play a female transgender on television”, said Tambor.

The series also won a writing Emmy for D.V. DeVincentis.

Tom Hiddleson, who starred in The Night Manager, presented the award for outstanding directing in a limited series or movie to the show’s director Susanne Bier. “And the unfortunate thing is, I’m not sure how many of us would want to hang out with a guy like Elliot”.

Paulson also thanked Clark, who she brought to the Emmys, and apologized to her for having a two-dimensional view of the prosecutor before signing on to play her onscreen.

The emotional news came after Julia commented on the current political environment in the US, for which she personally apologized.
