Adrian Peterson carried through restaurants on way to locker room

As Peterson left the arena propped up by two Vikings staffers, he was hobbling his way past patrons who couldn’t help but stare at the hurt megastar, who is now contracted to Minnesota for $42 million over three years.

Peterson hobbled off the field during Sunday’s win (US time) over the Green Bay Packers after falling awkwardly near the end of the third quarter. “He delivered the ball well”. And I am no doctor, but I believe either way, Peterson is still looking at some time away from the game.

According to a Yahoo.com report Monday afternoon, the Vikings are weighing a partial fix that could get Peterson back as soon as four weeks. or a full fix that would knock him out for four months, which is the entire regular season.

“His heel got kind of planted and the guy hit him from the side a little bit”, Zimmer said.

“We didn’t get more of a push up front to give James a way to put his head down and get to the apex of the push”, Tretter added.

The Vikings revamped their offensive line in the offseason, signing Boone from the San Francisco 49ers and right tackle Andre Smith from the Cincinnati Bengals, and moving Brandon Fusco from left guard to right guard. He’s been an ineffective running back to this point of the season, though much of the blame falls on a porous offensive line that’s failed to open running lanes. Bradford didn’t start Minnesota’s first game but he was under center for their most recent. He was impressed with quarterback Sam Bradford, making his first start two weeks after being acquired in a trade with Philadelphia.

Peterson had just 12 attempts for 19 yards during the Vikings’ win over the Packers Sunday night, his second consecutive game managing just 1.6 yards per carry. He has gained 2 yards or fewer on 20 of those 31 carries. Basically, the O-line’s debut was a mixture of bad pass protection in front of Shaun Hill and terrible run blocking in front of Peterson. “I think Shamar got a good surge, so being able to get them 1-2 yards in the backfield, now it becomes more of a fourth-and-4 situation when you get that type of penetration”. “He’s got good size, I remember from last time”.

Jerick McKinnon, primarily a third-down back, and fullback Matt Asiata would likely share the carries if Peterson is unable to play against the Panthers. “When you see it enough, you understand there’s a time to go for it and a time to make sure you secure the sack”.

Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson has a torn meniscus in his right knee, coach Mike Zimmer told Minneapolis radio KFAN Monday morning, according to multiple reports. He left the field immediately, and needed help getting back to the locker room.

“We’re not going to overreact”.
