Colin Powell Calls Trump ‘National Disgrace’ In Leaked Emails
As previously reported, the Democratic presidential nominee, 68, sent confidential information over a private email server while she was serving as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.

In one email, posted on Twitter by Intercept journalist Lee Fang, private equity investor and Democrat donor Jeffrey Leeds told Powell that all Clinton wants is to win the upcoming election.
“A 70-year person with a long track record, unbridled ambition, greedy, not transformational, with a husband still dicking bimbos at home”, he wrote.
In one of these emails from August, Powell, who led the State Department during the earlier phases of the George W. Bush presidency, criticizes the birther movement, which Donald Trump helped lead, calling it racist.
The emails were posted on DCLeaks.com, which has reportedly been tied to other recent high-profile hacks.
Powell, who was secretary of state from 2001 to 2005, confirmed to NBC that the leaked messages were authentic, and said the hackers were in possession of “a lot more”.
A newly leaked trove of emails by Colin Powell on Wednesday offered a rare glimpse into how the former US secretary of state actually view US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his Democratic counterpart Hillary Clinton.
Of the birther movement, which Trump promoted, he expressed consternation that President Barack Obama was born a “secret Muslim”. “That’s what the 99% believe”.
“He’s also an global disgrace and a national pariah”, the host said of Trump.
“I have a great deal of respect for Colin Powell”. In the email, Powell not only called Trump “a national disgrace”, but also an “international pariah”. “I saw email more like a telephone than a cable machine”, he also wrote.
“To go on and call him an idiot just emboldens him”, Powell wrote in another email.
According to Powell, Clinton’s touch is anything but magic.
The now-closed FBI investigation into the Democrat’s use of a private email server has dogged her White House campaign.
Last month, Powell wrote that the Clinton camp largely ignored him when he advised them to knock off that line of defense.
In an email from December of previous year to CNN anchor Fareed Zakaria, Powell blasted the press for their Trump coverage: “You guys are playing his game, you are his oxygen”.
The Late Show host agreed with Powell that insulting Trump publicly won’t help anything.

There were reports Russian Federation may have stolen the emails, though there’s been no evidence released by anyone to suggest that is the case. “I wasn’t aware of any infiltration of my Gmail account. If accurate my privacy has been violated”, said the retired statesman in an interview with The Daily Caller.
