Adrian Peterson Injury: Minnesota Vikings running back suffered torn meniscus, says coach

It’s early in the season. But what ended up happening was we got a massive timeshare.

The post Game Recap: Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers appeared first on Cover32. It’s been two weeks.

“You know, the fans were unbelievable, they were loud, you know, I’ve been in some of these game before, and there’s been a lot more green in these stadium, and there was a lot of purple in here tonight and it was as good of a crowd as I have seen”.

The Packers gained just 263 yards, as Rodgers was sacked five times and couldn’t connect with his receivers on a number of throws.

“We are going through the evaluation process to figure out what the next procedure will be”, Zimmer told reporters during his weekly news conference.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (28) is helped off the field after getting injured during the second half of an NFL football game against the Green Bay Packers Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, in Minneapolis. Then came the interception at the Minnesota 41 with 1:50 left that sealed the victory.

But this team’s reputation for a preference to rush the ball could be coming to an end…

“Everything we do is about the team here”, Zimmer said. “Everybody just take ownership of what they have to do, do their job and find a way to execute”.

The Vikings are 2-0 despite some shoddy play from their offensive line.

Rodgers threw deep again on second down and on third down tight end Jared Cook made the egregious error of losing yardage after already having crossed the first down marker after a catch. The Vikings hit Rodgers eight times, and the Packers hit Bradford 10 times.

“I don’t think we have more confidence”. And keep in mind that when the meniscus heals, he still has to get back in football shape. “There’s some moving pieces right now”.

The Packers finished just 6 of 13 on third downs, which is a sign of an offense that isn’t in sync. Don’t get me wrong, it’s loud, and they still amplify the sound of the drum that beats on and off all game.

Zimmer tried during the week to keep his starter secret, but it was no surprise when Bradford trotted onto the field for the first snap. It’s kind of like our guys, it doesn’t matter who is in the game, they’re going to play hard. For those playing in PPR leagues, McKinnon is the player to add while those in standard scoring leagues may want to look at Asiata given he is likely to get more of the carries. We’ve been as confident as we need to be and we’ll continue doing that through ups and downs.

NOTES: McCarthy had no update on DT Letroy Guion (knee) and S Morgan Burnett (hamstring).

Peterson’s timetable for return is uncertain right now, as the seven-time Pro Bowler is currently weighing his recovery options.

They learned they could also count on savvy to alertly backpedal far enough from blitzing Clay Matthews to float the ball over the middle to Stefon Diggs for a gain of 4. “But we’ll get there”. McCarthy is not treating Peterson, but did discuss Monday how long he could be out.
