Guardiola: Man City have to forget Champions League past
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hailed the majesty of prolific marksman Sergio Aguero after the Argentine’s hat-trick stoked his side’s Champions League hammering of Borussia Monchengladbach. The match was rearranged from Tuesday due to adverse weather conditions in Manchester.

The German helped to set up Sergio Aguero and City’s second goal after he was brought down in the 18-yard box. Let us know in the comments section below.
“There are many, many things I like a lot”, he added.
As has become custom, City fans also booed the Champions League anthem before kick-off in continuing protest at organiser UEFA, with whom they have various issues.
“It would have been nice to score, but 4-0 was the ideal score for me”.
“Our fans, they have to know we play for them”, said Guardiola.
The prolific forward, however, now wants to use his remaining years at City under Pep Guardiola to taste Champions League glory.
Raheem Sterling’s first Premier League hat-trick came against Bournemouth in October 2015.
“Obviously the Champions League is not easy, there are a lot of fantastic teams as well”. With our supporters we are stronger.
“I saw the game against West Ham and they were unlucky”. That seriously affected the number in the away contingent, which slumped from 1,600 fans to less than 1,000. If we didn’t get points in the first game at home against Gladbach, it would make games against Barcelona and Celtic more hard.
“He (Guardiola) hasn’t said anything to me and if I feel good I want to play and make a difference, but he will decide”, said Gundogan. “I’m thinking about it – I don’t know”, he said.
Those who did turn up for the Moenchengladbach game would have been happy they made the effort.
Guardiola’s dispatch will be to take them further and his record of coming to in any event the semi-finals in his seven Champions league battles – merging two triumphs with Barcelona – offers trust in the club’s taking after.
And the City boss admitted that he is unsure whether Germany global Ilkay Gundogan is able to play again just three days after he made his debut for the club.

Kelechi Iheanacho grabbed the other goal late on as City established themselves as the side most likely to challenge competition favourites Barcelona for top spot in the group.
