Bumgarner, Puig clash; Dodgers rally past Giants 2-1 in 9th
Los Angeles Dodgers’ Hall of Fame announcer Vin Scully puts his headset on prior to a baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants, Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, in Los Angeles.

Two innings after a shoving match broke out when tempers flared between Madison Bumgarner and Yasiel Puig again, the Dodgers rallied in the ninth.
Kershaw certainly pitched well enough to do that, allowing only three hits in his six innings.
Since any little flame is a 4-alarm job when fanned by the San Francisco bullpen, the Dodgers pushed their National League West lead to six games with a 2-1 victory, and nudged the Giants one toe closer to the cliff.
Los Angeles recalled infielder Micah Johnson from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Instead, he was done and the bullpen blew the game in the ninth. Sep. This is the third time Puig and Bumgarner have gotten into it, but hasn’t happened since 2014. Bumgarner did not walk a batter and struck out 10.
Puig said he thought Bumgarner might have been reacting in anger to the fact that the only hit he had given up was to him.
Clayton Kershaw, who started the latest game for the Dodgers, couldn’t believe Bochy pulled him. That was a double by Yasiel Puig in the second inning, a drive that did not improve his relationship with Bumgarner. “I’ve tried to mix it up where something can work, and to be honest, that hasn’t gone well”.
After Toles’ hit, Corey Seager singled past diving second baseman Joe Panik on a two-strike pitch from Javier Lopez (1-3), allowing the speedy Toles to reach third.
Kershaw didn’t join his teammates in rushing the field because he was inside working out after his outing.
Bumgarner didn’t return for the eighth inning Monday.
Kershaw also walked Gorkys Hernandez in the fourth, a scoreless frame but one that added 23 pitches to his ledger. Hill struck out eight and walked one in a 7-3 defeat. The three-time NL Cy Young Award victor retired seven in a row before leaving. They play one more game at Dodger Stadium and conclude a three-game set on the final weekend of the regular season in San Francisco.
Both teams have 12 games remaining in the regular season, including five against each other. We all remember Puig’s epic bat flip, right?
“Everyone’s grinding blood, sweat and tears for nine innings”.
Dodgers: LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (elbow) and RHP Brandon McCarthy (hip stiffness) will pitch in a simulated game Tuesday.

There have been few pitchers as consistent as Bumgarner since he entered the rotation full-time in 2011 for the Giants.
