Packers show offensive potential in win over Jaguars

It was the first sellout in Jacksonville since 2014 and though the Packers – as always – had a ton of road support, this intriguing group of Jaguars just might start drawing a lot better. First, you have Green Bay calling a timeout beforehand. Still, Bortles kept going back to Lee whenever he got the chance. But when they traveled to Arizona to face the Cardinals for Round 2 of the NFL Playoffs, their season ended with a 26-20 loss.

Jacksonville controlled most of the play in between those scores. Unlike the Packers, the Jags have never made it to the Super Bowl.

He was masterful and his play-making – and the boost it gave the rest of the team – was a huge factor in this game.

The Jaguars had more first downs (20-18), owned the time of possession (by nearly three minutes), and Bortles had 121 more passing yards than Aaron Rodgers.

Minnesota’s defense might not be the only challenge for Green Bay. Cornerback Joshua Hawkins is listed as out, while Ayorunmi Banjo (safety) and Jayrone Elliott (linebacker) are both listed as Doubtful thanks to their hamstrings. While a clutch fourth-down stop by the defense late in the fourth quarter sealed the win, Rodgers’ brilliance carried the day for Green Bay and it may have to once again carry the season. This one was unsuccessful. a bubble screen to Allen Hurns. The Packers quickly capitalized with some balance on offense.

The Green Bay Packers, and their revamped offensive line, didn’t waste time in looking ahead to Sunday night’s matchup at Minnesota. Facing a third-and-4 at their 24 and needing only a first down to all but run out the clock against a Jaguars team out of timeouts, the Packers had trouble getting the right personnel on the field and first took a timeout and then a delay of game penalty.

Joe Thomas was the beneficiary of a deflected pass to snag his first career interception, putting the Packers at the Jaguars 29-yard line.

The Packers took possession on their own 25 with 1:09 remaining in the half, trailing 17-14.

The Jaguars stymied Rodgers for much of the first half, forcing Green Bay into three consecutive three-and-outs at one point before the former NFL MVP finally found his rhythm. The game will be televised on FOX and NFL RedZone with coverage beginning at 1:00 p.m. EST.
