France wants international Mideast conference this year

France said on September 20 that it is keen to organize a peace conference before 2016 ends to present an incentives filled package for both Palestinians and Israelis.

Meanwhile, the meeting called upon the worldwide community to compel Israel to strictly abide by its commitments under global law, and to fulfill its obligations for the establishment of a two-state solution.

Speaking at the General Assembly annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations for the last time as president, Obama also said Russian Federation was trying to recover “lost glory” through force.

Jean Marc Ayrault, the French Foreign Minister, told the media that the week should be used in political mobilization so that the goal can be reached.

USA officials have held out the possibility Obama could lay out the rough outlines of a deal – “parameters” in diplomatic parlance – after the November 8 presidential election and before he leaves office in January, but many analysts doubt this would have much effect.
