Williams continued, saying, “In between tours, we takes a few years off, so I know how to do that, I know what I’m gonna do”.
In July, AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams suggested he planned to leave the Aussie hard-rock group after the conclusion of its current Rock or Bust Tour. Williams made the announcement via an official video from the band, which can be viewed below.
Though AC/DC didn’t specifically say it at the time, the assumption these days is that Johnson is now done touring forever-especially because one’s hearing doesn’t typically get better when you’re already an older guy in a rock band.

Following Tuesday night’s gig in Philadelphia, guitarist Angus Young will be AC/DC’s only founding member. While he acknowledged the numerous changes that have beset the band in recent years – specifically the departures of longtime members Malcolm Young, Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd – Williams noted AC/DC has been dealing with such tumult since the death of original singer Bon Scott.

AC/DC wrap up their US tour tonight (Sept. 20) in Philadelphia, and they have no other 2016 dates scheduled as of now.
