The athleticism of former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate was put to test when she met a family with an injured child while hiking.

Tate posted on her Facebook that she was hiking along Mt. Charleston near Las Vegas, Nevada, when she came across a mother struggling to carry her daughter, Kai, down the mountain.
Miesha Tate has been hailed a hero after she helped to carry a girl who had broken her arm down a mountain this past weekend.
Tate later shared the story on her Facebook and Kai sent her a thankyou video on Instagram.
“Such an wonderful and humble person to have met”, Kai’s father wrote on Instagram about Tate.
The mother asked Kai her preference, and, according to Tate, she quickly chose Tate.
While hiking on Sunday, Tate came across this lovely family that was struggling to carry their little 6-year old who had been injured and that’s when Tate came to the rescue.
“Kai is beyond thankful for your help”, she wrote. To our rescue and assistance came the incredible @mieshatate the UFC fighter. But that all changed once they ran into Tate, who offered to lend a hand.
While a broken arm isn’t life-threatening, the situation could have worsened if the mother wasn’t able to carry Kai down the mountain.

Tate is now awaiting her next fight after losing the women’s bantamweight title to Amanda Nunes at UFC 200. “I have been told many times that I am “too buff” or “manly” that I should stop lifting weights, that it’s “gross” and not attractive for a woman. That strength and beauty comes from within”.
