About 1 million Note 7 units had been recalled in the country.

Samsung has just announced that it has shipped 500,000 replacement Galaxy Note 7 devices to United States retailers and carriers.
As previously noted, the new, safer version of the Note will feature a green version of the battery icon, verses the old gray scale, indicating that the handset is one of the safe ones.
True updates include the iris authentication feature, and Card Restore, which allows users to restore all membership, gift, and Samsung Reward cards upon signing back into Samsung Pay.
US hazardous material regulations prohibit air cargo shipments of recalled or defective lithium batteries and lithium battery-powered devices, and passengers may not turn on or charge the devices when they carry them on board a plane.

Samsung also says that “Customers who exchange a Note7 device will also receive a $25 gift card, in-store credit, in-store accessory credit or bill credit from select carrier retail outlets”.
Samsung has their own online Serial Number checker that’ll tell a user whether or not they have a device that needs to be exchanged, too.

The iris scanner is a major addition to the Galaxy Note 7, and we could end up seeing on future Samsung phones. Samsung attributed the problem to a “battery cell issue” and stopped selling the device September 2. The group said “consumers should immediately stop using and power down the recalled Galaxy Note 7 devices” and contact the location where they purchased the devices to either get a new Note 7, a refund or a replacement device.
