In a new statement, the Hollywood actor has said he feels “saddened” by his and Angelina’s break-up, adding that his main priority is their six children.

In a 2014 interview with The Associated Press, Jolie Pitt said playing a couple with marital problems was cathartic. The couple, who met on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith, have been together since 2004.
The stars reportedly separated on September 15 – less than a month after their two-year wedding anniversary. The documents listed the date of the filing as Monday.
Though the actors are most known for their work in movies, Jolie has been nominated for two Emmy Awards for her roles in Gia(1998) and George Wallace(1997).
She’s also released a statement through her lawyer giving her reason for ending the marriage. “She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this hard time”. There were reports of an affair during that time, but Jolie told Vogue magazine they were only “very, very good friends” until Pitt and Aniston split in 2005. The UN special envoy was previously married to Billy Bob Thornton from 2000 to 2003.

Their children include sons adopted from Cambodia and Vietnam (Maddox and Pax) and a daughter, Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia.
