When this Bangalore girl realized that her prospective life partner didn’t seem to be much of a dog lover, she point-blank rejected the proposal. Or at least that’s what a majority of web publications would like you to believe.
Karishma Walia was in talks to have an arranged marriage to a man from New Delhi, but upon hearing that her husband-to-be didn’t like dogs, she abruptly refused. However, the eligible bachelor was denied love after he mentioned that Lucy- Walia’s dog would be a problem.
Finding the situation unbelievable for some reason, the guy continued to try and convince her by saying things like – “It may be a temporary phase in life when you like dogs”. The girl went under pressure from the family that her family believes he is the flawless match for her and that they think her decision was wrong. That’s for sure. And my mom doesn’t like dogs in general.’, to which she responded: ‘So that’s why I’m saying it won’t work out!’.
Having a dog is definitely not a temporary phase.
“My mom thought he’s an excellent match because he’s good-looking and well-off”, explained Walia.
Incapable of handling rejection like an adult, the man then suggested Walia marry her dog instead, which begs the question: Where does one register for a dog wedding?
The suitor has since tried to get Walia to reconsider, but hasn’t stopped belittling her for making Lucy the “top most priority” in her life.

Walia herself is also happy with her decision. “I gave up when he commented about my dog”.
