It was later reported that the iconic DC Comics villain will actually make his presence felt in Ben Affleck‘s upcoming solo Batman movie.

Because DC Comics is not into cross-pollination between its television and film products, some popular characters have been scrubbed from TV plot lines so that they can appear on the silver screen. The suspense is now over since Geoff Johns, president and creative director of DC Entertainment, said that Joe Manganiello had obtained the preference of the studio.

The role of Deathstroke in the most recent Batman film was confirmed by Ben Affleck’s Twitter account.

Personally, I love the selection of Deathstroke as an antagonist (and Manganiello’s casting as well) in Warner Bros.’ upcoming film (s) because he’s not your average villain, but rather a mercenary for hire. It’s also unknown when the movie might be released.

Deathstroke is definitely not a character that has been explored much outside of the comics.

The movie will serve as Ben Affleck’s first solo “Batman” film.

Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke is a highly skilled master assassin. In fact, while Batman: Arkham Origins isn’t even technically in the Rocksteady trilogy, the battle with Deathstroke tends to be ranked first when fans talk about the best boss fights.

There are many rumors as to what the standalone Batman film could be about.

Deathstroke’s name is Slade Wilson, who started as a 16-year old kid in the army with great combat abilities and fell in love with his Captain Adeline Kane.

The new Batman movie won’t be in theaters until sometime in 2018.

Deathstroke is also closely associated with Green Arrow and made his live action debut on the CW’s Arrow played by New Zealand actor Manu Bennett.
