Bears’ Houston tears ACL, out for rest of year
Linebacker Danny Trevathan needs thumb surgery and will be sidelined indefinitely, while fellow pass rusher Lamarr Houston reportedly is done for the year with a torn ACL. This comes a little less than two years after he tore his other ACL back in 2014, missing most of that season and coming back slowly to start 2015.

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler (6) fumbles as he is tackled by Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Destiny Vaeao (97) during the second half of an NFL football game, Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, in Chicago.
It’s the second significant knee injury Houston has suffered in the past three seasons.
The Bears have yet to confirm the exact injury although it doesn’t come as a surprised based on comments made after the game and on Tuesday by head coach John Fox.
Lamarr Houston goes off the field with athletic trainers after being injured against the Eagles at Soldier Field on September 19th. He is in the third year of a five-year, $35 million deal and will have a almost $7 million cap hit next season, a steep price for a player that has now missed significant portions of his last three seasons.
The loss is a major one for a Chicago team already desperate for playmakers on the defensive side of the ball.

Lamarr Houston is lost for the season. Chicago drafted him this year with the ninth pick in the draft out of Georgia and is certainly their future at the position.
