“Atrocities by Indian security forces against innocent Kashmiris has touched extremes”. The prime minister will get back home on September 24.

Kirby’s statement becomes significant in view of the fact that Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif yesterday said that would “forcefully” raise the Kashmir issue at the UN General Assembly next week.

Sharid also assured that Pakistan would continue its moral, diplomatic and political support for right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people which was also accepted by the worldwide community.

The annual session of the General Assembly has special significance as it is attended by a large number of Heads of States and governments.

The AJK’s President Sardar Masood Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider were also present.

He would urge the worldwide community to devote adequate political attention and support for the voluntary repatriation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan and their sustainable reintegration in Afghanistan.

“The prime minister wants to take the Kashmiri leadership into confidence over the content of his speech to be delivered at the UN General Assembly session on September 21”, the DawnNews quoted him as saying.

The Prime Minister is also likely to interact with business leaders and select members of the media, the foreign office said.

Earlier, PM Nawaz on Friday arrived in Azad Kashmir’s capital Muzaffarabad to meet leaders of Hurriyat Conference.
