An attorney for Jolie Pitt, Robert Offer, said Tuesday in a statement that she has filed for the dissolution of the marriage. Her six children include sons adopted from Cambodia and Vietnam and a daughter adopted from Ethiopia.

A possible on-set affair between Cotillard and Pitt has been on the rumor mill for months, with behind the scenes revelations that Jolie and Pitt over the past year having already begun to live separate existences, with the actor spending more time on ‘projects’ (define projects) than he was with Jolie and their once blissful homestead life (or so it seemed). Pitt was previously married to Jennifer Aniston, whom he divorced in 2005.
In a statement to People magazine, Pitt said: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids”.
Aniston, who has been happily married to Justin Theroux since August 2015, and Pitt split after nearly a decade together in January 2005, shattering our #relationshipgoals (in a pre-hashtag world) of Hollywood power couples and endless love. During this time, Jolie said, “We spent a lot of time contemplating and thinking and talking about what we both wanted in life and realized that we wanted very, very similar things”.
She also filed for Pitt to be granted child visitation rights and to share legal custody of the children.

While Pitt and Jolie won praise for their on-screen chemistry in Mr & Mrs Smith, their most recent film collaboration, By the Sea, past year was about a married couple drifting apart. About two years later, the couple finally tied the knot at a small ceremony in France.

Jolie, 41, and Pitt, 52, have been together since 2004 and were married in 2014. We haven’t worked together for 10 years.
