Jay Cutler to Undergo Further Tests on Injured Thumb

Bears coach John Fox tried to ice Sturgis, calling timeout just before the snap.

ESPN’s Jon Gruden was impressed after Wentz and the Eagles beat the Bears, saying, “He came in here with a no-huddle offense, no backset, went right down the field for a field goal”.

I say shocking because this was clearly a winnable game. But, there were a few times throughout the game Monday that fans held their breath as Wentz took big hits while trying to pick up an extra yard or so.

Starting quarterback Jay Cutler was not the only Chicago Bears’ player to be injured on Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Tough times don’t last”. However, Fox did not rule out surgery for Cutler at some point.

Question is, where do you begin?

Jenkins said that he and his teammates chose to wait until Week 2 of the National Football League season to protest during the anthem because the Eagles’ first game was on September 11.

Enough about Wentz’s toughness and pocket presence, let’s talk about how he threw the football in the Eagles first two games. As for play selection, it’s 58-38, pass over run. Additionally, like they have done in their first two games, the Steelers need to force Wentz into several third and long situations as that appears to be one of his weaknesses. Cutler reportedly suffered ligament damage to his thumb during the season-opening loss at Houston. Now in his eighth year, he’s had stops with five other teams before joining the Bears this offseason.

If he was able to practice, then it’s understandable that he would want to play through it; and early on, he didn’t look too bothered, especially on a perfectly thrown deep strike to Alshon Jeffery that set up the Bears only offensive touchdown.

We’re just in Week 2 and storm clouds are everywhere.

He also talked about linebacker Pernell McPhee, who was so mad after the INT that he started yelling at the injured QB.

His childish rant said a lot about team dissension.

Cutler had a hamstring injury previous year, but he missed only one game during a down season for the Bears.

“He’s a passionate guy”, Cutler said, shrugging off the brief spat. “Everybody’s got a lot vested into this”. “No one likes to lose in that type of fashion”. He’s upset. I’m upset. Cutler walked to the locker room and did not return. “We started the season without a couple of corners, we’ve got some young guys that have gotten opportunity that it seems that they’re learning from, I think in some cases have excelled in, so we’ll figure it out. We’ve got a bunch of good coaches, and we’ve 14 games left”.
