Olympian Ryan Lochte, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ embrace the controversy

Ryan Lochte has opened up about last week’s incident on “Dancing With The Stars”, which saw two male audience members approach the disgraced athlete following his performance to protest against him being allowed on the show in the wake of his troubles with police in Brazil. I’m like, ‘Mom, stop calling. She’s definitely just been so supportive.

“I’ve always known that there’s like haters out there, obviously, but I never got to really witness it in person and that was really shocking for me”, Lochte said backstage on Monday night.

Lochte spoke with People about how he’s been feeling post-DWTS, and he mentioned how grateful he’s been for the support he’s received from Kayla and his mother. “And I didn’t. I’m not going to – not yet”, he said.

After two attempts to win fans’ votes, time has run out for one celebrity and their professional partner on this season of Dancing with the Stars. “It’s just, how far can I put it back in my head and move on?” “They all have shown me so much support throughout this whole week that really kept me positive”, he admitted.

“Especially my girlfriend, because I’m living with her now”, he said.

The embattled Olympian looked joyful as he danced a quickstep to the Muppets theme song during the live show.

Despite a marked improvement on last week’s technical issues, the judges remained unmoved.

The judges’ scores and viewer votes from Monday night will be combined with those from last week’s premiere, and the star with the lowest combined total of judges’ scores and viewer votes will be eliminated during Tuesday night’s broadcast. She can’t just go sit for six hours and watch me dance. Laurie Hernandez & Val Chmerkovskiy had the highest score of the night with an animated performance to the theme song from DuckTales.
