Jose Mourinho Discusses Manchester United Confidence After Feyenoord Defeat

After making eight changes against Feyenoord on Thursday from the side that lost to Manchester City last weekend, Jose Mourinho could be set to field an nearly completely different side again on Sunday.

United have lost two games in a week.

I’ve been delighted with Herrera’s recent performances and it has been brilliant to see him back in action again at Man United.

“When we won the Community Shield, and three Premier League matches, I was not saying we are phenomenal and we will beat every opponent”, he added.

“It is obvious that we left players like (Antonio) Valencia and (Luke) Shaw at home to play and to rest so we go back to a normal team without so many changes”, Mourinho told BT Sport.

“I always said it was a very good start but. I know the situation is not click your fingers and everybody is flawless”, Mourinho was quoted as saying by The Guardian. We were double unlucky because it’s a clear offside.

“You win matches, people are happy and full of confidence”.

“Obviously when you lose matches the mood, the feeling, is not the same”. That is the normal feature of football players.

“In the second half, they answered my half-time words and it is not disappointing as it was in our best period that we lost the game”.

“In the second half, I think our urgency was there but we need to start that in the first half”. Nevertheless, playing in their first ever group match in Europe’s second tier club competition the visitors produced a limp display which saw them fail to regularly threaten the Eredivisie leaders. “I’m a new manager here at Watford, but slowly we are going to build great things”.

Manchester United never accept a loss, but this game gave a number of positives along with the obvious negatives, and that should be taken into account.

Striker Nicolai Jorgensen appeared to stray offside when running onto a pass down the right but the assistant’s flag stayed down and he pulled back for Vilhena to plant a low shot past David de Gea.

“United upped the tempo and used their physical presence in moments of the game, making it very hard for us”.

“We need to start the game sharp”, Shaw was quoted as saying by MUTV. I will be ready when the manager wants me to play.

The France worldwide was a peripheral figure in the first half as he epitomised a lack of urgency and intensity from the visitors. We were not trying to win, we were just waiting for the possibility to win or not to lose.
