Bethesda: Sony has blocked Fallout, Skyrim mods on PS4
HDR was promised during the Sony PlayStation Meeting event in NY last week and will be available on every PS4, including the soon-to-be-released new, slimmer model and the PS4 Pro, which is coming on 10 November. The game developer concluded that the content for “Fallout 4” and “Skyrim” on PlayStation 4 will remain unavailable, until Sony allows them to feature proper mod support. Or will PS4 gamers simply have to go to other platforms if they want mod support in their Bethesda games?

Bethesda has announced that mod support will not be coming to the PlayStation 4 versions of Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.
Following months of all kinds of rumors and reports, Sony finally took the wraps off the highly anticipated mid-generational hardware upgrade to its eighth generation video game console.
“We invested considerable time and effort to make mods possible on Playstation 4”.
While Sony and Bethesda are in strong disagreement over a long-expected PlayStation feature, gamers are still waiting in vain for the mods or modifications to be applied to PS4.
After updating your system to version 4.00, you’ll see HDR settings in the Video Output Settings and be ready to enjoy HDR gaming and entertainment content once it’s available on any PS4 system you own. This not only applies to Fallout 4, but also to the upcoming Skyrim Special Edition. Once again, every PS4 will play every game so this shouldn’t worry those who aren’t upgrading to the new console.
Sony has yet to comment on the matter to provide an official reason for why mod support is not being allowed for Bethesda’s titles. Not to mention mods are readily available on PC and Xbox One.

Bethesda has said that it will update fans if the situation changes, but Sony doesn’t seem likely to change its mind.
