Instagram Rolls Out Option to Save Posts as Drafts

One of the most annoying things about Instagram is the inability to save edits.

If you’re an Instagram user, keep an eye out for the Save Draft feature in the coming days.

It’s a much welcome feature.

If you were desperate or had the time, you could use a workaround, such as screenshotting or switching your phone to airplane mode before you publish in order to save but not make your draft live.

All your drafts are easily accessible under the Manage tab, where you can see a list of them or delete ones you’re no longer interested in working on. These new features have been very reminiscent to what Snapchat’s been offering for quite some time, and not everyone is happy with the changes that have been taking place. In the latest feature that the company is rolling out to the app, it looks like Instagram is hearkening back to what the service was initially made to be – a place for sharing well though-out photos with friends and family.

Tap the Camera icon at the bottom of the app’s main menu bar.

Add effects, filters, a caption, etc. This works exactly as you would expect post drafts to work. You can now save your photo to a drafts file mid-post and come back to edit and post it later.

The drafts feature should be available to all users now.
