Spurs striker Janssen is in at the deep end
Spurs insist a more accurate diagnosis is not possible due to swelling around Kane’s right foot but grade two ligament damage could put the forward out for six to eight weeks. “We will continue to assess him every day but don’t want to put a timeframe on it”, Pochettino said of Tottenham’s central striker, according to the BBC.

Pochettino says “there are different rumors, we can not guess whether it’s eight weeks, 10, four, one”. “It’s impossible to assess today and know how long”.
For England, Kane is also now out of World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia next month and is also a major doubt for the home clash with Scotland in November.
“We must take that”.
The signing of Vincent Janssen in the summer gives Tottenham another striker in the squad and one they will use with Kane out.
“Janssen has already shown the supporters he has a big passion to play, they have been excited to see him on the pitch and the energy he brings”, Pochettino said.
Speaking at the Spurs training ground in Enfield yesterday, Pochettino said his belief in Janssen had been confirmed after he watched him play in the Ireland versus Holland friendly in Dublin in May.
Janssen, 22, scored 32 goals in all competitions for AZ Alkmaar last season to catch the eye of a number of clubs.
“Vincent arrives in a good moment – he’s ready to compete”, Pochettino said. It’s always hard when you don’t have an opportunity to play – strikers are always excited to play and sometimes feel the pressure.
An extended absence from the team would be a serious blow for Spurs, who recently lost their first Champions League fixture of the 2016-17 campaign. “Now he needs to be calm”.
Other Tottenham academy products may also be on display at White Hart Lane, with 19-year-old playmaker Joshua Onomah, 20-year-old midfielder Harry Winks and 18-year-old centre-half Cameron Carter-Vickers all in contention for starting spots.
