Bush senior ‘to vote for Clinton’ in latest defection
Former US Republican President George H.W. Bush plans to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, according to a niece of former US President John F. Kennedy.

“The President told me he’s voting for Hillary!” read the caption of a picture Kathleen Kennedy Townsend posted on Facebook, as she shook the 92 year-old ex-president’s hand.
Bush, 92, had meant to stay silent on the White House race, but Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend revealed his alleged voting plans.
Jim McGrath, a spokesman for Bush, did not confirm nor deny the claim.
A spokesman for former President George W. Bush, who now lives in Dallas, told CBS11 that Mr.
Ms Clinton and Mr Trump will go head-to-head in the first presidential debate on September 26.
“I hold President Bush in the highest regard and I respect his opinion but I respectfully and strongly disagree”, Pence said on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor”.
“It is ironic that he would vote for the wife of the man who knocked him out of the race”, she added on “Erin Burnett OutFront”.
Neither of the former presidents attended the Republican convention, though the younger Bush has campaigned on behalf of Republican candidates for Senate, including Sens.
And Jeb Bush, Trump’s former primary rival, has said he won’t vote for Trump or Clinton.
As the news spread early Tuesday morning, McGrath took to Twitter to warn reporters against reporting how Bush will vote, saying it was unclear whether anyone could verify Kennedy Townsend’s account.
In April, Mr Bush Jnr’s wife Laura hinted that she’d rather see Mrs Clinton in the White House.
But Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush have also spent their post-presidencies teaming up for philanthropic endeavors.

CNN reports that Bush made the comments while in a receiving line for board members at the Points of Light Foundation on Monday.
